What the scan found on the old site:

  • 118 of the 156 old addresses were marked noindex, so Google had been asked to leave the site alone
  • A 22-second wait for the main image on a phone
  • No structured data anywhere on the site

Live since September 23, 2026. The week before, it was on page one of Google for none of the six roofing searches people type around Franklin. The new build passed every check but two, both about speed on a phone: a PageSpeed score of 69 and a 4.7-second main image.

What the scan found on the old site:

  • No structured data, so nothing told a machine what the firm was or where
  • No meta description for Google to show under the name
  • 1,123 KB of page code before compression, the weight a builder carries

Live since August 26, 2026, two weeks after the build began. From September 1 to 20 the site had 785 visits, against 200 in all of August, and three leads, one of them sent by ChatGPT. Search Console had it on page one for thirteen searches by September 20.

What the scan found on the old site:

  • An 18.4-second wait for the main image on a phone
  • A robots.txt that turned away GPTBot, PerplexityBot, OAI-SearchBot, Google-Extended and CCBot
  • No sitemap and no H1 heading on the home page

The new build scored 99 with no failures on its preview address, sbcnashville.pages.dev, and now answers at sbcnashville.com. The one warning was a home-page title a few characters short.

For scale: Google’s web.dev guidance asks for the main image to appear within 2.5 seconds.

Moved without losing an address

The part nobody sees: every old link still works.

A rebuild that breaks the old addresses throws away whatever the old site had earned. Spring Haven Mansion, a wedding venue in Hendersonville, ran on WordPress twice, once for five years from 2014 and again from 2024 until early this year. Not one of its old addresses was dropped in the move: each stayed or pointed to its new page.

At Three Stone Roofing we found 156 old addresses, 143 of them from WordPress itself. On the day the domain moved, all 119 of the addresses the old site still answered on worked on the new one, including the two pages its ads point to.

Five engines, Google’s AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude, each got the question a customer would type, with web search on, asked from Nashville. These are first readings, not before and after.

About these numbers

What does the website scan check?

On the dates on this page it ran 45 checks in seven groups: speed and Core Web Vitals, SEO basics, mobile and security, structured data, AI search readiness, trust signals, and how well the page turns a visitor into a call. Each check passes, warns or fails, and the PDF lists every one with the fix.

Does a higher score mean more phone calls?

Not on its own. A high score means Google and the AI engines can load the page quickly, read it and tell what the business is. The calls still depend on the Business Profile, the reviews and the work. That is why measured results such as visits, leads and AI answers sit beside each score here, each with its date.

How long does it take to rebuild a website?

Harmony Tax Services took two weeks, from August 11 to August 26, 2026. Three Stone Roofing signed in August and went live on September 23, once every old address had been mapped to a new page. Most of the time goes into that mapping, so nothing that ranked ends up on a dead page.

Will I lose my Google rankings if I replace my website?

Not if every old address is sent to its new page with a permanent redirect before launch. Spring Haven Mansion in Hendersonville had been on WordPress twice since 2014, and every one of its old addresses was kept or redirected when we moved it.

Why is one after-score from a pages.dev address?

Southern Belle Construction’s new site was scanned on its preview address, sbcnashville.pages.dev, on September 24, 2026, before the domain was pointed at it. It is the same build that now answers at sbcnashville.com, and its PDF says which address was scanned.
