Free AI visibility scan / One a month per domain

See what Google and the AI engines make of your site.

It runs 103 checks in six areas, from technical SEO to whether the page turns a visitor into a call. AI search readiness counts most, 35 of the 100 points, and speed, scripts and mobile come next at 20. It is the same audit we run before quoting any job. Free, one scan a month per domain, and nothing to sign up for — the result is yours whether you hire us or not.

What it measures / Six areas, 100 points

Where local sites actually lose work.

AI search readiness · 35 points

Whether ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and Perplexity can read the site and lift a clean answer off it: an llms.txt, the AI crawlers let in, words that don't need JavaScript to appear, questions answered on the page. Almost no other free checker looks here, and it is where the work is moving.

Technical SEO · 10 points

Nothing hiding the site from Google: pages it may index, a sitemap that matches reality, one clean redirect, a certificate on both www and the bare domain, and a robots.txt that does not accidentally hide the site.

On-page SEO · 25 points

Titles and descriptions in the bands Google actually shows, one H1, real words in the HTML, copy with no stock phrases or leftover template text, a page for each service you offer, service pages that aren't one page with the town swapped, an About page and a privacy policy, photos of your own jobs rather than iStock or ChatGPT pictures, and a site that isn't a stock Wix or WordPress template.

Local and entity signals · 5 points

Whether a machine can tell what the business is and where it works. The heaviest checks are the business schema and the towns you serve, named one by one; then your trade's own schema type (Plumber or RoofingContractor, not a bare Organization), the address and phone as plain text, and links to the Google Business Profile and your other listings. Your hours and the reviews quoted on the page are noted here, never scored.

Speed, scripts and mobile · 20 points

What a real phone experiences, read from Google's own PageSpeed test: how many scripts the page loads and which third parties they come from, what holds up the first paint, how heavy the page is, and whether the hero image loads first. A popup on arrival, a rotating hero slider and a second chat widget each cost points, because templates ship them and phones pay for them.

Turning visitors into calls · 5 points

A number that dials when it's tapped, a form on the page that's short and easy to fill on a phone with no CAPTCHA puzzle in the way, and a reason to call before anyone has to scroll.

Honest about the limits

What a score cannot tell you.

A perfect score does not mean you rank, and a poor one does not mean you cannot. The scan measures whether your site is built so it can rank — it says nothing about how competitive your market is, how strong your Google Business Profile is, or how many people have linked to you. Those decide the outcome. This decides whether you are in the race.

FAQ / Answers

Common questions about the scan

What does the free SEO scan actually check?

103 checks, scored in six areas that add up to 100 points: AI search readiness (35), technical SEO (10: indexing, the sitemap, redirects, the certificate, the headers), on-page SEO (25: titles, descriptions, headings, the words themselves, a page of its own for each service, an About page and a privacy policy, your own photos, a site that isn’t a template), local and entity signals (5), speed, scripts and mobile (20, from Google’s own PageSpeed test: each script and which company it comes from, popups, sliders, chat widgets) and turning visitors into calls (5, including a form that is easy to fill on a phone). Reviews on the page, your hours, a license and insurance are noted in the report but never scored, so a new business isn’t marked down for a history it hasn’t had time to build. We grade hard on purpose: a warning earns a quarter of what a pass does, and points thin out faster than checks, so a site that’s halfway there scores well short of half. It reads the home page plus a service page and a post from your sitemap. Sixteen of the checks are rules our own sites must pass before launch: no broken links, no canonical aimed at the wrong page, no stock phrases or leftover template text, no iStock or ChatGPT pictures standing in for real jobs, no stock Wix or WordPress theme, no faint text, and no quote form that only opens an email. It is the same audit we run before quoting any job.

Why does AI search count for 35 of the 100 points?

Because fewer of your customers click through to any website at all. Ahrefs found the top result loses 58% of its clicks when Google puts an AI Overview above it (300,000 keywords, December 2025), and SparkToro counted 68% of Google searches ending with no click in the first four months of 2026. A homeowner asking who fixes a leaking water heater gets a name from Google’s AI or ChatGPT, and those tools can only name a business whose site they can read. No other single area moves as much work now, and it is where a hand-built site and a WordPress, Wix or Squarespace one differ most: FAQ markup, an llms.txt and a plain answer near the top of each page are on every site we build and missing from most of the rest. So it carries more than a third of the score.

Why do speed and scripts count for 20 points?

Because it is the easiest gap to see for yourself. Paste any site into Google’s free PageSpeed test and it lists the scripts the page pulls in: a builder or WordPress site usually drags along a stack of other companies’ code, a popup, a slider and a chat bubble or two, and a phone has to load all of it before the page answers a tap. The sites we build carry an analytics tag and the form’s bot check and nothing else, so this is where the two kinds of site come furthest apart.

Is it really free, and is there a limit?

Free, one scan a month per domain, and all it asks for is the address. Scan your own site, scan a competitor, and scan yours again next month after the fixes. The result is yours whether you hire us or not — we would rather you knew what was wrong than guessed. If you want a person to read it, leave a name and an email under the result and Michael writes back with what to fix first.

Why is my score lower than a tool I used elsewhere?

Most free checkers grade the things that are easy to measure and skip the ones that matter locally. This one puts more than a third of the score on AI search readiness — an llms.txt, questions answered in plain sentences, FAQ markup, crawlers let in — and a site that has done none of that work rarely clears the mid-70s, however clean its titles are. That is where Middle Tennessee home service sites now lose the most work.

My score is bad. What do I do first?

Work top down: anything marked as a failure before anything marked as a warning, and technical items before content ones. Most sites gain the most from three things — a faster host, page titles written for what people search, and structured data that tells Google what the business is and where it works.

Do I need to hire you to fix what it finds?

No. Every finding names the problem and what to do about it, and a competent developer can work from that list. We are here if you would rather it was handled, and the scan is the same one we would run either way.
