LAYER 04 / VISIBILITY
Nashville SEO that reports calls, not rankings.
Google Business Profile, citations, technical fixes and city pages — the whole local stack, documented monthly, and the foundation every AI answer is built on.
What local & technical SEO means here
Local SEO is the work of getting a Nashville or Middle Tennessee business into the map pack and the local organic results for searches in its service area. It combines Google Business Profile management, consistent citations, technical site fixes, city and service pages, and a review workflow — the same signals Google AI Overviews and the chat engines read first when they recommend a local business.
Google Business Profile, citations, city pages, technical fixes and content — the whole local stack, not a monthly ranking PDF. The same signals that win the map pack are what the AI engines read first.
Included / Scope
What you actually get.
- Google Business Profile optimization — category strategy, services, service area, photos and posts, once you have created and verified the listing
- Citation audit and cleanup — consistent name, address and phone across directories
- A backlink audit on onboarding and every quarter — every referring domain, the ones that fail with the reason beside each, removal requests and the disavow file for what stays up, the watch by month in between
- Technical SEO: crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data
- City and service page architecture matched to real search demand
- Review generation workflow that does not violate Google guidelines
- Rank and AI-visibility tracking side by side, so you can see both kinds of result
- A live traffic dashboard plus monthly reporting on calls and form fills — not keyword positions
A month of SEO / What actually happens
What the retainer buys, month by month.
SEO is a sequence of unglamorous jobs done in the right order and kept up. This is the order, and the report lists which of them happened each month.
Month one: the foundation
The audit and the entity sheet; the technical fixes — crawlability, indexation, speed, structured data; the Google Business Profile set up properly once you have verified it — categories, services, service area, photos; citations started; the baseline recorded, on Google and in the AI answers.
Months two and three: the pages and the proof
City and service pages built to real search demand and written to be quoted; the citation cleanup finished; the review workflow running; the first monthly report, with calls and forms by channel next to what was done.
Ongoing: compound it
Content against what Search Console shows people typing, links from real local sources, profile posts and Q&A, the AI engines asked the same questions again every month — and the report every month, on calls and forms rather than a ranking chart.
Inside this layer / The backlink audit
Your links, read before anything is built on them.
On onboarding and every quarter, every site linking to yours is read by written rules: the links a past agency bought, link networks, sitewide links, bursts of exact-match anchors, and the spam another company can point at you — tiered, with the reason beside each, never a toxicity score. Removal requests and the disavow file by domain for what fails, the reconsideration request when Google has acted, and the watch by month in between.
The map pack / Why it decides most calls
Three things decide the map pack — and the AI answer built on it.
The block of three businesses with the map takes most of the clicks on a local search, and Google’s AI answers are assembled from the same record. Win these three and you are in both.
01 / Proximity
Where you are
Google weights how close your verified address is to the person searching. You cannot move your building, but you can make sure your service area, categories and location data are set correctly — which most profiles are not.
02 / Prominence
How established you look
Review volume and recency, citation consistency across directories, and links from real local sources. This is the part most businesses neglect, and it is the part that is actually winnable.
03 / Relevance
Whether you match the search
Your categories, services and site content have to say plainly what you do and where you do it. A page that mentions the city once in the footer is not a city page, and Google treats it accordingly.
SEO and AI search / One job
The signals that win the map pack are the signals the AI engines read.
Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and the rest assemble a local recommendation from the Google Business Profile, the reviews, the citations and the pages on the site — the things local SEO builds. A business that has never done the local work has nothing for an engine to cite. That is why the two are run as one program here: local SEO is the foundation, and AI SEO is what makes it quotable.
Reporting / Calls, not rankings
What you get every month.
A report you can check, not a chart generated by a tool. Every number in it comes from your own site, your own Search Console or your own profile, and it says what was done that month.
- Calls, form submissions and email taps, by the channel that produced them — from the private traffic dashboard on your own domain
- What Google showed the site for: impressions, clicks and positions for the searches that matter, from Search Console
- The Google Business Profile month over month: rating, reviews, replies, photos, the map-pack position at your own address
- Where you appear in the AI answers — the same questions put to each engine every month, and who was named instead
- What was done: the pages, the fixes, the citations, the links — listed, so you can see what the retainer bought
What SEO costs — in words
A flat monthly retainer, month to month, with no long-term contract and no per-lead charge. We quote a specific figure on the first call, after we have looked at your market and what the engines currently say about you.
What moves the number: how competitive your trade is in the cities you want, how much groundwork the site and the Google Business Profile need before the work compounds, and how many markets you want to hold. Google Ads and Local Services Ads, when you run them while the organic work matures, are a separate budget you control. If the retainer is not producing, you can leave without a penalty clause — which is the reason to keep it producing.
The check / Every link, read by the rules · One a month per domain
Your domain. Every site linking to it, read by the rules.
Type your domain. Every site the index finds linking to it is read by the same written rules as our backlink audit — spam patterns, pages that link out to hundreds of sites, sitewide commercial anchors, bursts born the same week — and you get the count — how many fail outright, how many are borderline — with the reasons and five examples. Free, no sign-up. The result is on this page in under a minute.
Takes ten to twenty seconds. Every site the index finds linking to yours, read by the audit’s rules. One check a month per domain.

Local & Technical SEO — questions
How long before I see results from local SEO?
Technical fixes and Google Business Profile work can move the map pack within four to eight weeks. Competitive city rankings take four to six months of consistent content and citation work. Anyone promising page one in 30 days is selling you something else.
Do you set up my Google Business Profile?
You do, and it has to be you: Google verifies the owner of the business — by postcard, phone, email or video — and will not verify an agency in your place. It takes about fifteen minutes to create and a few days to verify, and we walk you through it. Once it is verified, we take it from there: categories, services, service area, photos, posts, the review workflow and the monthly management that keeps it ranking.
Is local SEO still worth it now that AI answers the question?
More than before. AI Overviews and the chat engines assemble local recommendations from the same sources local SEO builds: the Google Business Profile, reviews, citations and the pages on your site. A business that has never done the local work has nothing for an engine to cite. Local SEO is the foundation; AI SEO is what makes it quotable.
Do you guarantee rankings?
No, and neither can anyone else — Google does not sell placement in organic results. What we commit to is the work: the technical fixes, the profile management, the pages and the reporting, all documented monthly so you can see exactly what was done.
What is the map pack?
The map pack is the block of three local businesses Google shows above the normal results, alongside a map. For most home service searches it captures the majority of the clicks, which is why Google Business Profile work matters as much as your website.
How much does SEO cost in Nashville?
A flat monthly retainer, month to month, with no long-term contract and no per-lead charge. What moves the number is how competitive your trade is in your cities, how much groundwork the site and the Google Business Profile need, and how many markets you want to hold. Ads, when you run them, are a separate and optional budget. We quote a specific figure on the first call, after we have looked at your market and what the engines currently say about you.
What is the difference between local SEO and AI SEO?
Local SEO earns the map pack and the organic results: Google Business Profile, citations, city pages, technical health, reviews. AI SEO makes that work quotable by the answer engines — one consistent entity, structured data, answer-first pages, corroboration and monthly measurement across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot. The first is the foundation; the second is what the engines read on top of it. We run both from one team.
Do I need a new website to do SEO?
Not always. If your site is fast, crawlable and editable, the SEO work goes on top of it. If it is slow, built on a page builder we cannot restructure, or missing the service and city pages the work needs, we will say so — and a rebuild is usually cheaper than fighting the platform for a year. The first call settles it.
My rankings dropped after a redesign. Can you fix it?
Usually, and quickly. The common cause is a rebuild that changed every URL without redirects, so years of ranking authority point at pages that no longer exist. We map every old URL to its new home with permanent redirects, restore the titles and content that ranked, resubmit the sitemap and watch Search Console until the positions come back.
Do you do SEO for businesses that are not contractors?
Yes. The method is the same for any business that serves a defined area — clinics, law firms, studios, restaurants — because Google and the AI engines decide local recommendations the same way for all of them. What changes is the search demand, and we will tell you on the first call whether there is enough of it in your market.
